1936

Founding of Diametal in Biel, Switzerland

From the beginning, Diametal has specialized in the production and development of carbide tools and durable watch components.

1939

Abrasives Debut

Began producing abrasives in the form of Diamond and CBN grinding tools.

1973

DIAMETAL France

Opened in Oltingue/Alsace, the company began producing and selling Diamond and CBN Tools/Wheels.

1995

DIAMETAL Italy

To reinforce the sales activity on the Italian market, DIAMETAL Italy opened in Busto Arsizio / Lombardia.

2009

DIAMETAL China

Since this year Diametal has its own subsidiary in Nanjing, China.

2012

Joined the Kowema Group

As part of the succession, Diametal is taken over by the investment company Kowema.

2018

Acquisition of SCT Holding SA

Diametal acquires SCT Holding SA, including its subsidiaries BT Bienne, Malisani, and Brandt.

2020

The new DIAMETAL Group

The newly formed DIAMETAL Group refined its profile and organized its activities into three business units to efficiently and dynamically develop customized solutions for specific applications.

2024

New Application Center

Has opened to offer hands-on engineering expertise, enabling us to produce and optimize grinding tools with complete quality control.

2024

DIAMETAL Inc.

We launched our new subsidiary, DIAMETAL USA.
